Three Excel files, updated on their own, in your own folder. Here is exactly what is in each one, and what every number means.
Use the one you need, or all three. Each file updates on the schedule you pick.
P&L, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger, and A/R and A/P aging, laid out the way QuickBooks exports them.
For: owners, bookkeepers and month-end packs.
Transactions (one row per line), customers, vendors and chart of accounts as flat tables.
For: anyone building pivots, Power Query or Power BI.
Cash, margins, who owes you, what you owe, days to get paid and more, worked out from your QuickBooks data.
For: owners, CFOs and firms preparing client reviews.
These follow the dates and basis (accrual or cash) you pick for your P&L, so they always match your Reports file. Each one shows this period, the period before and the change, and a Trend sheet shows the last 14 months.
A snapshot of where things stand on the day of each sync.
Every metric is labelled Period (covers a stretch of time, like revenue for September) or As of (a snapshot, like cash in the bank right now), so you always know which you are looking at.
Go back up to 3 years. Accrual or cash. Columns by month, quarter or total. Leave the end date blank and each sync runs up to that day.
Metrics are worked out from data MorningSync already reads, so they use no extra sync credits.
Calculated inside MorningSync, saved only to your own folder, and never shared or compared with other clients.
No forecasts or budgets. Metrics are numbers in Excel, not charts, so you can build your own charts on top.
